four forty one was alto saxophonist Will Vinson‘s debut recording on Whirlwind which saw him realise on a long-held dream – to record with five of today’s finest pianists. Featuring Sullivan Fortner, Tigran Hamasyan, Gerald Clayton, Fred Hersch and Gonzalo Rubalcaba, the differing combinations each represent a different aspect of Vinson’s musical journey through America – the record also marks twenty years since Vinson relocated from London to New York.
