We’re delighted to announce the new signing of Ryan Quigley, who is one of the premier trumpeters in the UK known for his extremely rare ability to be both a world class lead player and virtuosic and conceptual improvisor– the two do not usually go together. Ryan’s lead playing has been featured with the upper echelon of big bands, symphonies, orchestras, and pop stars around the world and as a composer and small band leader he has won multiple awards in the UK including the Parliamentary Award for band of the year. He’s assembled an all-star line up for his new recording which will feature all new music to be recorded on July 27 and 28 at Steve Winwood’s private studio in the Cotswolds, produced by WWR’s own Michael Janisch, who will also be holding down the bass duties alongside Paul Booth on saxophones, Steve Hamilton on piano, and over from NYC will be one of the world’s great drummers Clarence Penn. The album will be released in 2015. They will be doing a short tour to play the music in before the recording and so far the dates are:
