2nd July 2020: Rudresh Mahanthappa features on Third Story Podcast talking about Whirlwind release Hero Trio + features in Mother Jones, Pan M 360 and France Musique

Saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa recently released Hero Trio a chordless trio featuring François Moutin and Rudy Royston. The release is Rudresh’s first album comprised solely of music written by other artists. Featuring tunes by Stevie Wonder, Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen and Charlie Parker, the album gives ample space for all three musicians to expand through the forms.

The album is out now on 12″ 180g LP (Red with Black Splattered Vinyl) / CD / DL: here. Below are a selection of recent press highlights for Hero Trio

“A piano-less saxophone trio that leaves plenty of space for the unit to move together.”
