12th September 2013: Review in for John O’Gallagher’s ‘The Anton Webern Project’ from Jazz Weekly

WebernJust in is another review for one of our recent releases – John O’Gallagher’s The Anton Webern Project. This new review is from Jazz Weekly, who describe John’s band as ‘flexible and adept’ at performing his reworkings and adaptions of the music of Anton Webern – an Austrian composer known for his innovations in twelve-tone technique and the musical movement known as ‘Serialism’.

Webern studied and was a significant follower of composer Arnold Schoenberg, who himself was associated with the ‘expressionist’ movement, with the influences of these composers living on in this latest WWR release which has already been hailed in the press as one of the most original albums of 2013.
