Sutures and StitchesDrummer and composer Ollie Howell recently released his debut album Sutures and Stitches on WWR which has landed with a great response from critics including a 4 star review from The York Press and 4.5 stars from The Jazz Mann. Now we have many more to add to the collection including a review from The Guardian, Jazz Views, Jazzwise Magazine, a feature in Rhythm Magazine and airtime on BBC Radio 3.

The Guardian announce the album as “a fine debut” with Jazz Views describing the band as having “absolutely flawless technique and the ability to interpret and interrogate Howell’s themes with intelligence and  originality without reliance on jaded licks or straining for superficial effect”. Jazz Views continues with saying that “the music stands on its own feet as an example of the best of contemporary jazz” and “I would urge everyone to avail themselves of a copy and envy those who are able to hear them live on their current UK tour.”
