3rd September 2019: Michael Janisch – ‘Worlds Collide’ – 2nd single premiered on Worldwide FM + Jazzwise Magazine cover feature for Sept + Downbeat Magazine feature

 

WWR founder and internationally-acclaimed bassist/solo artist Michael Janisch will release his 6th album as a leader, Worlds Collide, this week on September 6th on all formats.

Last friday (30th August), Michael Janisch’s latest single from Worlds Collide, ‘Ode to a Norwegian Strobe’ was premiered on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM. Michael and his new UK band have also recently been the cover stars of Jazzwise Magazine‘s September edition, with a fantastic feature and glowing ★★★★ review.  In addition, he’s been featured DownBeat Magazine in their latest mag but you can check the full article out now online here.

Later in September, Michael will also premier his new UK-based band which showcases some of the finest performers on the scene today: Nathaniel Facey on alto saxophone (Empirical, Gary Crosby OBE), George Crowley on tenor saxophone (Melt Yourself Down, Yazz Ahmed), Rick Simpson on piano/keys (Christian Scott, Leo Richardson), and Shane Forbes on drums (Soweto Kinch, Empirical).

The official launch concert will take place at Kings Place on Sept 27 (click here for bookings); as well as The Jazz Bar (Edinburgh), Blue Arrow (Glasgow) and East Side Jazz Club (Birmingham), before the band heads out to Spain and tours extensively in 2020.
