20th October 2013: Review from London Jazz for John Escreet’s Lastest Release – Sabotage and Celebration

Sabotage-and-Celebration-coverPianist John Escreet last week released his debut WWR album and it has so far received deservedly great reviews from critics, with a review in today from London Jazz who say that…

“[the album] showcases a considerable (and remarkably versatile) compositional talent, its seven pieces ranging unaffectedly between arresting, voluble themes employing a deep and satisfying ensemble sound (involving both string and brass sections); gutsy, tear-it-up saxophone solos, dazzlingly fleet piano passages and exhilarating free improvisation; and – in a mesmerising final cut, ‘Beyond Your Wildest Dreams’ – a slowly achieved but ultimately irresistibly hypnotic and stirring climax.”

What else needs to be said! All you need to do now is hear it for yourselves by following on to the album page or checking out the full album teaser featured below. Watch out for more news on John’s release coming soon.
