21st May 2020: Chris Montague – Latest reviews for Warmer Than Blood include ★★★★ BBC Music Magazine + played on The Jazz Show with Jamie Cullum + press reaction from The Jazz Mann, Written in Music + Marlbank

Warmer Than Blood (released 24th April) united guitarist Chris Montague, pianist Kit Downes & bass player Ruth Goller for a trailblazing exploration of Chris’ compositions. The group takes inspiration from many sources and it is hard to classify this music; it still has shape and energy, without relying on volume or histrionics to deliver it. All three musicians responded to the deliberately limited sound palette by reaching into their boundless musical imaginations.

The album was released in April and is available on 12″ LP 180g Limited Edition Vinyl / CD / DL: here.

‘Warmer Than Blood’ was played on BBC Radio 2’s The Jazz Show (hosted by Jamie Cullum) on May 19th – listen back: here. ‘Irish Handcuffs’ from the album also played on Worldwide FM.
