19th October 2020: Announcing Arthur Hnatek Trio’s debut record ‘Static’ – releasing January 22nd on 180g Limited Edition Yellow Vinyl

We’re delighted to welcome drummer Arthur Hnatek to Whirlwind for his trio’s debut album Static, out on January 22nd.

Complete with wild double bass riffs, continuous breaks, obstinate syncopated rhythms, and improvised elements creating imperturbable solos, the compositions of Geneva-based drummer Hnatek show that jazz can exist between the lines of metal, ambient electronic and breakbeat. Recognised as a sideman for Tigran Hamasyan and Erik Truffaz, Hnatek steps into the limelight for his first album as leader of an accomplished trio. Winners of the ZKB Jazzpreis 2019, Hnatek joins forces with bassist Fabien Iannone and Italian saxophonist Francesco Geminiani for their debut trio record.
