Reid Anderson

Originally from Minneapolis, Reid Anderson is one of the world’s prominent bassists and composers. He studied classical music at Philadelphia’s Curtis Institute of Music and after moving to New York worked with like-minded players such as Mark Turner, Jorge Rossy, Ethan Iverson, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Bill McHenry. Anderson has released a number of fine albums on the Fresh Sound/New Talent label and is most known for co-leading the internationally acclaimed band The Bad Plus. In addition Anderson fronts his own rock band, The Sun, for which he sings and plays guitar. ​
