Drummer and bandleader Corey Fonville is in demand as much in jazz as in R&B and hip-hop. He’s a long-time collaborator with alto saxophonist Logan Richardson, appearing on his 2021 album Afrofuturism.

Aside from this, Fonville is a member of the Nicholas Payton Trio and Christian Scott Atunde Adjuah’s Quintet, as well as leading his own band Butcher Brown, a group that blends jazz with hip-hop, funk, rap, rock and soul.
