Brotherly (L)

Profile

Brotherly were one of the most creative bands to emerge from Britain in the mid 2000s, drawing together influences from across jazz and experimental dance music. Comprised of vocalist-pianist Anna Stubbs and multi-instrumentalist Rob Mullarkey, the duo became immersed in London’s broken beat scene through the last decade. Analects is an extended collection of their standout tracks, which sees the duo’s music available on vinyl for the first time.

The duo’s collaboration resulted in two full-length albums – ‘One Sweet Life’ in 2007, followed by ‘Find First Light’ in 2010. Both releases to establish their place on the London jazz scene and beyond, drawing an international fanbase through their embrace of boundary-pushing beats and highly nuanced studio production, as well as industry support from the likes of Gilles Peterson.
