Margret Grebowicz

Profile

“Newcomer Margret Grebowicz’s unpolished, raw vocals have a disarming way of stripping a song down to its bare essentials, an approach that teases a uniquely terse beauty out of her music.”
Downbeat Magazine

“Pure, wistful & inviting” – This is how All About Jazz describes the sound of this self-taught vocalist. A native of Poland, Margret Grebowicz began singing on the Texas jazz scene where she co-led the group Com Você with saxophonist Stan Killian and the group released Candeias on the French label Nocturne Records. After moving to New York City she released her first album on Sunnyside Records in 2010 featuring Ben Monder, Scott Colley, and Antonio Sanchez.  She has also performed and recorded as a side-musician with composers John O’Gallagher, Vardan Ovsepian, and Rich Woodson, and writes lyrics for and sings in the original pop duo project, Sauertooth.
