Josephine Davies


Described by Jazzwise as a consistently inventive, witty and lyrical saxophonist, Shetland-born musician and composer Josephine Davies works at the forefront of the contemporary British jazz scene.

Winner of the Perrier Young Jazz Award whilst studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, she has continued to play and write for various ensembles including her own trio and quintet, and the London Jazz Orchestra.
​Josephine’s ‘​Satori​’​ is a brand new band featuring the remarkable talents of Dave Whitford on bass and Paul Clarvis on drums. The chord-less line-up features open and playful compositions with a focus on group improvisation and the  interaction between space and sound.
