Jon Scott

Profile

Originally from Manchester, England, Jon Scott has been based in London since late 2005. Since then he has developed a reputation as a creative and flexible player on the UK jazz scene, while building up his international connections, playing extensively throughout Europe. Jon has performed with artists including Will Vinson, Alec Dankworth, Martin Speake, Nikki Iles, Yuri Goloubev, and Mike Walker. He holds the drum chair in a large number of original groups, including upcoming Kairos 4Tet, Candid Records artist Mishka Adams’ band, sax veteran Pete Hurt’s quartet, The Hannes Riepler Quartet, Carlos Lopez-Real’s Mandorla and Anglo-German collaboration Paragon.

He performs regularly at venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, Pizza Express Soho, The Vortex, 606 Club, and Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer. Festival appearances include the London, Copenhagen and Manchester Jazz Festivals.  Jon also performs regularly with members of the forward-looking Loop and F-IRE collectives. Jon graduated with distinction from the Guildhall School of Music masters programme and studied for several years with renowned Manchester-based teacher Dave Hassell.
