1st July 2013: Jeff William’s 3 part Podcast Series from London Jazz News

London Jazz News has recently interviewed veteran drummer and composer Jeff Williams in a three-part series of podcasts which are now available for listening below. They give some great insight into Jeff’s career which has spanned over four decades performing with some of the world’s most revered musicians such as Stan Getz, Lee Konitz, Dave Liebman and Lookout Farm, Joe Lovano, Paul Bley, Bill McHenry, Ethan Iverson, Tony Malaby, Kenny Wheeler, Norma Winstone, Lee Konitz, Phil Robson, Martin Speake, Bobo Stenson and many more.

In particular, Part 1 in the series covers Jeff’s life until his move to the UK in 2001. Part 2 his move to London, his marriage, the parallels between the jazz scenes in the UK and the USA with a thoughtful opinion on collaborations between UK and USA jazz musicians. In Part 3 Jeff talks about the new album The Listener, which was recorded live at the Vortex and features John O’Gallagher (sax), Duane Eubanks (trumpet), and John Hébert (bass).
