Alina Bzhezhinska is an International Harpist based in Edinburgh. Her virtuoso performances and imaginative programmes have established her reputation as a harpist of exceptional accomplishment. Alina studied at the F. Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, Poland (Masters in Arts), and The University of Arizona, USA (Masters in Music Performance). She has performed with many major European orchestras, including the Young World Symphony Orchestra, the National Opera in Warsaw and Scottish Opera. Alina was honoured to play at Scottish and European Parliaments, at the Queen’s 80th-birthday celebrations at Balmoral Castle and at the King of Thailand’s birthday celebrations in Bangkok. She has released a solo album “Harp Recital” that is believed to be the first pedal harp CD made in Scotland. Alina composes and arranges music for harp and clarsach and has been commissioned to arrange a cycle of Thai King’s songs for harp ensemble. Alina’s most recent projects have seen her perform at the prestigious Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and play live on the BBC Radio 3. This year Alina was appointed as a harp lecturer at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She gives regular harp performances and master classes.
